Welcome to Blue Lake Alpacas — “Striving for excellence in white”
Blue Lake Alpacas was established in 2006 with the purchase of eight white huacaya females from Laurie and Margaret at Pentland Alpaca Stud. Our herd has steadily grown since then and in 2009 we purchased, in partnership with Candyup Creek Alpacas, a promising young stud male from EP Cambridge Alpaca Stud.
Our aim from the beginning has been to breed strong, healthy animals that produce dense, soft handling fleeces displaying the degree of fineness and consistency demanded by the international fleece market. When making breeding decisions our eyes are always on the future and we are strongly committed to the long term commercial viability of the Australian alpaca fleece industry.
We are keen to encourage new breeders to the industry and anyone purchasing animals from Blue Lake Alpacas can be assured that they will receive the support they require to make their journey with these wonderful animals as rewarding as it has been for us.
